PROGRAMS

The Auxiliary supports a host of programs which pursue issues of national importance to veterans. These programs are designed to preserve veterans right, advocate a strong national defense, promote patriotism and offer community service.

  • Americanism – This program teaches the community about our veterans and what they have done, and to teach and foster patriotism in our citizens.

  • Cancer Aid and Research – Funds raised for this program are used to both assist Auxiliary members stricken with Cancer, and to support Canceer research facilities in helping to find a cure.

  • Community Service – When our veterans fought for the freedoms we have today, their job was not done. Today, they continue their service by providing assistance to our citizens via a host of community project.

  • Extension Extension is working with our weak Auxiliaries and helping to form new ones, so that we can extend our ranks and our effect to the community.

  • Historian This program is charged with recording the history of the organization, and its accomplishments. And it is history which helps teach us about ourselves.

  • Hospital – This program supports our hospitalized veterans in VA Medical Centers and nursing homes and hospitals.

  • Legislative & VFW-Pac – The purpose of this program is to urge our legislators to preserve veterans rights and to advocate a strong national defense, and to see why we need a Political Action Committee to help keep veteran friendly legislators in Congress.

  • Membership – The program encourages members to renew their membership, and to recruit new members.

  • Patriot’s Pen and VOD – This covers assistance with the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen competitions for our Elementary and High School students.

  • Scholarship Program – Learn about the scholarships offered to children and grand children of our members.

  • Special Project – Each year the state President selects a special project in which all Auxiliaries participate in.

  • Veterans and Family Support – This program includes assistance to veterans and their families outside the hospital, as well as assistance to our active duty military and their families. It includes Budd Poppy and VFW National Home for Children projects.

  • Youth Activities – Assisting our youth – The future of our nation, to help them understand our government, history, and patriotism is an important goal of the VFW and Auxiliary. This includes working with our Junior Girls Units.
